There are many opportunities to volunteer in either fundraising, administration or gardening activities.

Every spring and fall a dedicated group of volunteers come out for fun, friendship, and lots of raking, pruning, and general cleanup at the "workparties".  Lunch is always served.

Some volunteers sign up for the "adopt-a-bed" program, whereby they take care of a bed (or two) for the entire season. Expert support and teachings are offered by the master gardeners who oversee the Garden.

Every summer Friday, the Slocan Lake Garden Society (SLGS) runs a booth at the New Denver Friday Market.  Volunteers not wanting to garden come out to help manage the booth which sells raffle tickets, cards, and accepts memberships.

The second Sunday in September sees the SLGS selling bulbs at the infamous Hills Garlic Festival. Many locals wait for this event before purchasing their yearly supply of bulbs. The bulbs are always chosen by SLGS master gardeners so the selection is sure to be fine.

The SLGS are known for their raffles which can include a days worth of gardening by master gardeners, or romantic getaways at local hotsprings, and all sorts of other goodies.

Memberships for $5.00/yr. are available by contacting slugskohangarden@gmail.com.

In the summer of 2019, the SLUGS presented Sunday Series of events spanning the arts, theatre, horticulture, healing arts, literary arts,  and movement.
